In his testimony before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on September 21st, William Zimmerman, STA’s VP of Operations for the NW Region, testified under oath:
“school bus drivers, they’re a very specialized group. And it takes a very, you know, specialized individual to do it. You’re not — we’re not moving boxes around. So it’s tough. It’s very tough. It’s very competitive.”NLRB Hearing, September 21, 2020
Too bad he wasn’t asked this also: “if driving a school bus so specialized and competitive, then why is STA paying some of the lowest wages in the Portland/Vancouver region.” Oh well, I’m sure he would have just lied just like someone else did.
